There was a moldy stench throughout the hall and room. The mattress smelled of urine and the bed linens had hair all over. It took HOURS just to get new sheets.

Want to bring my husband
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/11/07
Loved the decor, felt like I was transported in time. The service was excellent, and the room was great.
I only had a chance to spend one night there and breakfast, but I'll be back.

Ghost at Historic Lincoln Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/24/07
Room 411 is crazy. A woman hung herself in this room around 1930 on the night of her wedding. It is said that she still haunts the building, and you can really tell in this room. There is no heat, and bad television choices. But the freakiness is the worst part. The best "suite" in the hotel (Presidential, Honeymoon, whatever they call ...

Surprised it is still open
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/13/06
I stayed at the hotel in February and thought it must be one of their final weekends as nothing was maintained in the rooms. The lobby was OK. My heat didn't work on one of the coldest nights of the year and the staff acted like I was crazy. The condition of the hotel was awful and the attitude of the staff was that of folks who didn't ...
I've stayed here three times. It's often half empty, but if you want to go during big University weekends, it'll be booked up. Beautiful building, nice rooms, enjoyable Great Hall of the Manor style of restaurant. Had a wonderful breakfast once, but the next day not so good -- different cook! I marked the location 3/5 because it's not very close to the campus. The five stars are for the historic and architectural character.

Excellent service in Bar
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/28/06
My server, Martha, or Sister Martha as the patrons called her- was excellent! She was entertaining, and on the ball. Our food and drinks were served promptly and we were made to feel welcome. My husband and I will be planning a weekend getaway here soon.

Stay anywhere but here!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/05
This hotel could be very charming, but unfortunately it is not!! There is mold, a horrible odor throughout the hotel, TV's don't work, mold on the shower curtains, no screens in the windows, the base of our bed lifted up if you sat on it and you had to sleep with your head lower than your feet. We complained about all of the above, the ...

Dirty with bad service

Looks like a formerly nice hotel that's been run into the ground and has surly employees. Breakfast was really good, dinner wasn't of the same quality

Very Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/09/05
We were very disappointed with our "suite". The room was just very plain and not worth the price we paid for it. The bathroom wasn't very clean and needed remodeled.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It has great antiques, fabric walls, great food and great service. My sleeping room was very different from any other place, and it was great. The hotel was quiet, charming and just plain enjoyable. I will be back.
