Superb location, particularly for kids. Hotel is near beach, zoo and Aquarium.
Disappointing pools though. They have two small ones, both very, very crowded.
Excellent restaurants, particularly the Italian and Sushi places.
Disappointing towels. For $300/nt, I'd expect more than thin sandpaper.

My favorite place to stay in Waikiki
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/30/06
The Marriott, Waikiki Beach has the most friendly, polite, and kind staff of any place I have ever stayed in Hawaii. The Hotel is beautiful and the rooms are lovely and spotless. The Marriott truly knows the meaning of aloha.

Great Hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/29/06
Great location and great hotel. Rooms were very large, with wonderful bed and pillows. We were walking distance to everything - rarely used our car. Next time will not rent a car. Trolley and buses stop right beside the hotel.

If you want to stay in the big city then you might like it. I wanted it to be quite and relaxing! I woke up to street noise and trucks backing up. Terrible! You have to pay $20 a day for parking and then you have to tip them when you drop off your car and when you get it! They want tips for looking at you! I always felt like the staffs answer ...
My wife and I just got back from Hawai'i, and we absolutely loved our stay at the Mariott. I'm the type who asks many questions, and the hotel staff was willing and able to adhere to my requests. During our stay we benefited from timely deliveries of faxes, mail parcels and room service, all of which added to the overall value of the hotel. ...

The Best Hotel Ever!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/15/06
We went to the Waikiki Marriott on our first trip to Hawaii. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our rooms were always clean. The consierge helped us plan out our free time. Everything was perfect! When I go back to Hawaii the only place I'll stay at is the Waikiki Marriott because I know my stay there will be superb.

Great home away from home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/07/06
Our best experience with the staff was The concierge Kalei. She was fantastic to work with and sooo very helpful. The entire staff was friendly and courteous. We would love to go back and hopefully will. Beds were too soft. Not good for bad backs.

It was ok but not worth the money!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/06
The only thing nice about this hotel is the unbelieveble view. The staff is NOT accommadating!! The rooms they claim are ocean front are actually partial ocean with partial ocean view. The also have a jacuzzi being built which makes it very loud noise from a jackhammer every morning. Also, the rooms aren't that clean. Look for the stains on rugs and tables and this is supposed to be 4 star!!

Not a resort at all
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/19/05
Two smallish pools, no hottub, few recreational options within the hotel. Not a resort at all, but if you want an ok location, and Marriott service, it's ok.
We were on the 30th floor facing Diamond Head and had a partial but lovely view of the ocean. Great amenities, shops, food and we found the service exceptional. Loved every minute.
