This is an up to date resort in a good location at a great price. Staff are friendly and responsive. Its close to the quieter beach and you can avoid the milling crowds if you want. Food is good but expensive. Rooms are extremely pleasant and views pretty good.
Two weeks ago I came to Waikiki, Hawaii for the first time in my life with the Liberty High School Grenadier Band. Our stay was absolutely amazing. The Marriott hotel made our stay in Waikiki 10 times better. If I were to come back, I would pick the same hotel, Marriott. My room had a side view of the ocean, which was so cool. Hope to come back some day!

Post cruise disappointment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/26/06
Our Marrott Beach Resorts & Spar reservations for two couples traveling together were made by AAA Travel on a post, Norwegian Cruise. The request for two-ocean view rooms with king beds were made months in advance. What we received was a room with two double beds and a suite with a king many floors apart. The double had a partial ocean view, ...
The location of the hotel is perfect. The staff at the hotel was incredible, and super friendly. I know that should be the norm in Hawaii, but I have stayed at other hotels and it was not the same. With the beach right across the street and LULU's nearby, I couldn't ask for anything better. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. If you get the chance to see the other Marriot Property at Ko Olina, take the tour!!
Very nice vacation. Loved the lobby with all the flowers. The room was very comfortable, beautifully decorated. We had a great view of the ocean from our balcony. I want to go back!
We recently stayed at the Waikiki Beach Marriott. The hotel is a little older than most in Waikiki and is accross the street from the Waikiki beach. The hotel has been well kept. Rooms are small, clean, and have good views of Diamondhead and the beach. The hotel is near the end of Waikiki and you have to walk about two blocks in order to find a ...

Too cr owded, bad front desk service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/06
Although I used points for an oceanfront room, I paid extra ($150) for a corner room. Certainly, not worth it. The room was musty and small (nothing like the photos) and the person next door was smoking on the balcony which came into the room. Front desk is indifferent and unhelpful. I would not recommend this hotel as it is too large and very impersonal.

Beware of elevators!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/25/06
Aside from the cold and impersonal staff, the two respective hotel towers did not have enough elevators running at any given time to accommodate the guests. It took nearly 10 to 15 minutes sometimes to get from our room on the 20th floor to the lobby. Also, I (an elite Marriott rewards member) requested and was denied a one hour extension for ...

Definitely Staying Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/06
I loved the location and how the beach was just aross the street. The service and rooms were lovely and I enjoyed the different eating places and shops inside the Marriott. I can't wait to go back.
