best vacation ever

reading the reviews I think we must be talking about two different places. This is the Thunderbird on Collins Ave sunny Isles Beach.
We stayed seven nights in April 2009. The grounds were lush, tropical colorful, immaculate, workers cleaning every inch first thing every morning. The entrance is lovely. You pay for parking, valet was perfectly ...

i don't will go back !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/09
Great location with excellant beach and pool access. This is one of the older Rat Pack resorts from the 50's surrounded by modern high rises that block the sun of their own respective beaches. The staff was mostly eastern european and french Canadian with their typical aloofness. Not entirely friendly but not entirely rude either. The fitness ...

Disappointed & Exhausted, 03/08
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/08
My Family and I had stayed next door in a motel 50 years prior when The Thunderbird had just opened. We were invited by the Hotel to swim in their pool. It was wonderful being in that pool again. I booked my one nights stay on the internet through the CheapTickets website. The cost was $151.01 plus tax plus parking plus pool fee. Upon arrival on ...

Will Not Return!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/31/08
Everything I read from reviews on the internet about this motel turned out to be correct. While no one is outright rude, there is no personal interaction at all with the staff. They do not do anything more than they absolutely have to to help you with anything. Air conditioner did not work at all. No hot water, just warm in the bathroom (which ...

Time for the demolition ball
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/24/08
After paying $151.00 plus tax on the internet I arrived on Friday, 3/21/08. In a crowded entranceway (jammed with rental cars) no one assisted me with my luggage. My room was not ready at 3:15pm. The door to my room needed a push with all my weight in order to get in after using key-card. The central air-conditioning was practically non-existent. ...

At the Thunderbirfd, just assume it doesn't work...
*Likes* - Good location, on the beach. - Nice pool and courtyard area.
*Dislikes* - Hotel room door wouldn't lock- maintenance was not responding to work requests (why? no one at the hotel knows) - told us to leave our belongings in an unlocked room. - Hotel desk staff were not friendly or helpful, and often rude. - Our Non-Smoking Room ...

Business Travel-NO, College Student-YES

I stayed at the Thunderbird on a short business trip. For anyone needing to get up early in the morning, forget it. You won't be able to sleep. The noise from the bar area, seemed as if they were ALL in your very own room. The walls are more than paper thin.
I was informed by staff that the French-Canadian snow-birds like to come up ...

Rude Front Desk Service...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/08
First impressions are very important....so what happens when you arrive and you get a rude front desk clerk?....you begin with a bad taste in your mouth....I don't know his name, he's the tall blonde guy...very rude, definately needs some customer service training....please employ someone friendlier to greet your customers so they will come back.
