For a lovely hotel for outer looks, it was beautiful. Knowing it was once an Old Train Station made it special but there was no ' special ' feel to it. For the amount of $150.00 a night, a few things could have been added. Upon walking in, it was dark and dreary. The ' bars ' were closed and it felt like we were in a ghost hotel. ...

Loved the Crowne Plaza!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/09
Our visit with the Crowne Plaza Grand was incredible! The staff was kindly and informed about goings-on in Pensacola. Housekeeping greeted us each day with a big smile and a great "Good morning!" We ate breakfast each morning in the dining room, and although it was quite busy down there, the staff never lost their Southern hospitality ...

Worst hotel experience I have ever had
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/15/09
The hotel staff was very rude. We asked for towels at 4:00 pm and they never came. We asked for directions and those were not provided. At the end of our stay we asked the manager to split the hotel room and she told us that was not possible. Prior to check in we were told that would be fine. We are very low maintenence travelers and they ...
I visited the weekend of July 4, '08 and found the rooms to have very thin walls. I could hear everyone conversing in the hallways and in thier own rooms, from within my room. I was very disappointed that a "Crowne Plaza Grand Hotel" was anything but. Secondly, on my first morning in the dining area, for breakfast, our drink ...

I was in Pensacola on government business, recently. We booked at two other hotels before cancelling them out and coming to The Crown Plaza. This is the place to stay in Pensacola. The staff are very, very nice.

Best in the City
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/05/08
I had such trouble finding a decent place to stay in Pensacola - I'd almost given up hope of staying within my budget but then I found the Crowne Plaza online. It met all my expectations and then some. My compliments to the housekeeping staff which were always ready to greet you in the hallway and immediately brought me more coffee to my room ...
very nice hotel, but if you stay on the lower floors, 1st, 2nd or 3rd not sure about the upper floors. be sure to pack plenty of patience and ear plugs. a train track is right behind the hotel and comes through every 2 to 3 hours. even at night so if you are not used to alot of noise or already have trouble sleeping do not book here. it drove me crazy. wanted a romantic weekend and came home more tired than when i left!
I have traveled to the Pensacola area many times but this was my first stay at the Crowne Plaza. The location was convenient to the freeway, the rooms were clean and roomy. The hotel amenities such as fitness center, restaurants, gift shop, library were beyond my expectation. I would recommend the Crowne to anyone and will be staying there on all my future travel to Pensacola.
The place was completely renovated after Hurricane Ivan, and I was impressed. Great bed and linens with tons of pillows on a beautiful bed. Flat screen TVs in the rooms. Free internet access. A nice bar in the lobby. There's not much in Pensacola, but it's probably the nicest place to stay in the city. It's located across the street from the civic center and you can see the intra coastal from the higher floors.
