The best place to stay when in Fort Lauderdale. Can't beat the location (you walk out of your room right on to the beach) and the staff... I wish I knew the names of the people (staff) to send a personal letter or a little thank you note, they were so helpfull and always there for anything we needed, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left (we were there from 08/14 to 08/21). I highly recommend this place to stay!!!

service in the bar and restaurants wasn't the best but the atmosphere more than made up for it. if you want to get a real fort lauderdale/south florida experience this hotel is really authentic and full of history. the common areas (restaurants and bars) are full of fish tanks and tropical fish both freshwater and saltwater and there is some ...

It is nice that this hotel is right on the beach. The downfalls are the hotels lack of upkeep, unclean rooms and pathetic pool. Our room has stains all over the rug and paint chipping off the walls. The pool has a broken ladder into the shallow end.

Great stay- Love the mermaid show.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/30/07
I took my girlfriend here and had a really nice time. We were really impressed with the beach view. We had a couple of drinks at the Wreck Bar. The drinks were good, and there was a really pretty mermaid that could be seen swimming while we sat. It's very different. Can't wait to go there again for our anniversary!
Stayed here for 4 nights, 1/16/07-1/21/07. The staff was generally friendly, but not anything special. Mike, the concierge, was an exception, he generally seemed to like his job and did try to show some enthusiasm. Location is excellent, loved watching the ships anchored off-shore. Housekeeping slacked a little...didn't show up 1 ...

On the beach? Yeah, right...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/06
The first room we were given was horrible... right next to the garage, almost in the basement. It's an old hotel and you can feel it! Pouring a bath for the kids.. found out the water was yellow. The smell was bad in the room. I was very far from the beach also. I complained about everything and was given a room in the main building with a ...

Great Value & Location

We arrived at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper after a cruise with 3 teenage children and the first impression is of an aged hotel - the hallways have a musty smell, but the rooms were very clean and the location is right on the beach with a beach pool and bar and free beach chairs & umbrellas. Service was wonderful. There is a restaurant, bar, ...

This hotel deserves one and only qualification is wonderful. Once you arrive, it just feels like you are back home, the staff recognizes you from the precedent visits from last year, such a kind staff. We have been received by Cameron and Xavier, always there to help us. We had a suite, in front of the sea, with a nice balcony, over the sand, very ...

I stayed at the Sheraton over 4th of July wk., last summer. I loved it. You can walk anywhere in about 10 minutes, whether its A1A or Las Olas Blvd. Many restaurants and shops. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, I highly recommend the Sheraton Yankee Clipper. While not upscale, it is nice enough to have a comfortable vacation. Being just ...
