I used Priceline to book this hotel - bidding for a 3 1/2 star plus hotel. When we arrived, we were first told that the "resort fee" of $16 per night (plus tax) was included in our pre paid reservations. Then the desk clerk said she was mistaken and that we would have to pay it. It took a 30 MINUTE heated discussion to get this fee ...

Don't waste your money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/13/08
This hotel and spa aren't worth the money. There are too many other GREAT resorts in the area that have beautiful spas. The new spa treatment rooms are nice, but the employees that I encountered had a bad attitudes and really couldn't care less you were there. The old treatment rooms, be warned, do not book an appoint in an old room - ...

Old hotel, but good service and all.
By mikey_mlb, 03/11/07
Beds are very comfortable. The in site restaurant is good, at least for breakfast which I had there. The building itself is old, the elevator takes forever, but the service is superb, and the rooms are big.

Fabulous renovations and Spa
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/01/07
Fabulous spa getaway. Friendly and very professional staff. Got an interesting tour from new spa director that makes the whole experience more interesting. Great historic feel.Newly refurbished rooms. Can't wait for the renovations of spa. Super wedding venue or just a " couples getaway".

Great hotel and spa.

Rooms were clean, quiet and spacious. Would have preferred a women's only whirlpool and a morning coffee bar upstairs instead of in the spa area. Location is great. Cute downtown area and everything was convenient for distance travel to Clearwater and St. Petersburg.

Masseuse
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/28/06
All the masseuse did was rub my body with oil. This is not a REAL massage. When I spoke with the Spa Manager, he was apologetic, and sent me a coupon for a free massage - and promised that the next one would be a REAL massage - the type you have when you are finished, you have "no bones" and feel like a jellyfish. Let's see about the next time. If it's the same, they are off my list.

Wow, what a difference
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/14/06
Having been at the resort before, I was pleasantly surprised by the beautifully renovated rooms. Very contemporary. Had phenomanal Europian facial and awesome Swedish. I guess the resort has new ownership and are recomitted to the Spa. Love the location; close to beach and airport. Downtown is very picturesque as well. Great value spa experience.

Never again!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/08/05
The stay at this resort went from bad to worse. Our room was musty and had a dirty carpet. We were given a new room the carpets was full of stains. A breakfast tray was left in the hallway for 11 hours and 4 phone calls before it was taken away. My spa experience was just as bad. I showed up 15 minutes early for my massage but the person doing the ...

Bad service, room had cockroaches, never cleaned in the 4 days I stayed there. Reception desk was the worst I have ever seen - kept lying and not too polite ... Check out other online reviews - most people had bad experiences...i wish I had before I went there.
