The only reason to stay here is the dog-accommodation, otherwise find another hotel. It was noisy, no AC, no internet in rooms, dingy, old, with overall poor upkeep. Impeccable service and the comp breakfast was outstanding. There are not many places you can visit where the owner himself takes the time to greet and welcome you. You truly feel welcome and "at home" while staying at the CARMEL VALLEY LODGE. I never wanted to leave.

This was the best vacation, the Lodge was great and we were able to take our dog and wern't made to feel out of place.
Every one that travels with their dog must stay here at least once.

This is a great place if you want to bring your dog with you. They have a good breakfast in the morning (outdoor seating if you have your dog with you). The rooms are a bit worn, but that is the price you pay to stay in a place that allows dogs. Overall a good experience but the room rate is too high during peak season.
