The hotel smelled like an old age home. The carpet needs to be replaced. It was stained and dirty. The bathroom floor in our room needed to be scrubbed good. The bathrub was sticky and the room seemed dirty. We lvoed Carmel but would not stay at La Playa again.

We stayed for three nights during a tennis tournament at CVAC. THe Skylight cottage was around the corner from the main hotel with our own parking space. Early 1900's restored hotel. Beautiful gardens and pool. Good restaurant and bar. Some rooms can be a bit small, but all garden rooms are spacious and comfortable. Service is attentive and professional. Location is convenient to all points of interest and walk to Ocean Blvd shops and restaurants. Would stay there again and have many times.
