This hotel has nice character, good service and location. The afternoon happy hour was crowded, but delightful with a tarot card reader and plenty of conversation. Leopard print robes added to the uniqueness of this hotel.
I was quoted $409/night for a 2room suite. Left the hotel and I was charged $459/night. I have tried emailing the hotel and it won't go thru. The bed was lopsided on one side which I told the front desk. Elevators very small. You are told when you walk out the door don't go this way...walk the other way because too many homeless beggars ...

Fabulous Experience

Very dog friendly! Hotel restaraunt rocks! Walking distance to shopping! Nice retro renovation decor. Service is very friendly. The Clift hotel is directly across the street.

Staff friendliness is so-so. Room decor is too somber. Awful shower experience with the curtain liner constantly stick to my legs. No complimentary breakfast. Definitely not worth the regular rate.
Perfect location!Lovely hotel- I can't wait to go back- upon arrival we were treated in a friendly, professional manner that made us feel comfortable asking about anything- the complementary eveing wine- is an added bonus-

Gorgeous place, treated very well by staff, treated my family very well, great location near Union Square, Aveda toiletries. I've stayed there on two different trips and would stay there again without a question.

Somewhat seedy location, small rooms, small old elevator, generally out of date. I'd recommend the Sir Francis Drake, part of this hotel's chain, to the Serrano.
