Reserved our double-bed suite weeks in advance. When we got there they say that there's none available. The rooms are getting a bit run-down. Our ground-floor room on the parking lot didn't even have a screen in the window, and a stick for a lock.

It was nice and classy for an affordable price. Close to malls, resturants, and local attractions! The hotel rooms are absolutely great looking on the inside and out.

We were absolutely stunned by the tropical beauty of this hotel! And the free cocktails and made to order breakfast. Everything was sparkling clean and designed to enhance the feeling of an oasis in LA, from the koi pond and hanging plants to the garden watercolors in the room. This would be a great place except for the evening shift front desk team. Great location and nice rooms. However the evening shift front desk team was more interested in talking and showing each other their tongue piercings than helping me. When I did ask for assistance the young lady rolled eyes and mumbling under her breath. The next night ...

Overall exceptional value: Welcome drinks, made-to-order breakfast; friendly staff; luxurious ambience and lots of room; easy access to fwy, dining/shopping. Bottomline: We wouldn't think of booking elsewhere.

My stay spans more than a month - Most of the staff is excellent. Breakfast is fine - although some workers are more accomodating than others in the mornings.

Rooms are fairly comfortable as well. The suite concept works well if you are working. Nice neighborhood with restaurants and shopping nearby if not in walking distance.

We could not get the front desk to answer the phone for over an hour. The room was dark and the furnishing were very shabby. We used to feel that we could count on ES as a well priced "quality" hotel, but no longer. The prices have not gone downhill, just the accomodations.

This varies a bit from hotel to hotel with the ES at San Luis Obispo the worst I've seen yet.
