we did not know this place was there. Rooms were clean. Food was out of this world. The front desk staff was so friendly and knowledable. They all showed great personality and it was a refreshing experience. We have experienced stuffy staff in the area. Close to mexico, fun day trip. We will be back.
I paid for a room on Saturday 3/15/08. After I received my keys, I left the Esplendor to my sister's house in Rio Rico. During the evening, on the same night, I forgot my wallet and room keys in my brothers car. Unknown to my brother that I left my wallet in his car, he departed Rio Rico to Tucson the same night with my wallet and room keys. ...
Celebrating our anniversary we spent a romantic weekend at the resort and can't say anything negative about the experience. All of the resort staff were friendly and very helpful with any request we had. The restaurant was excellent and the service staff did more than expected to make the dining experience a joy. The room was spacious and ...
Food is all frozen hospital style junk. Even the pastries are frozen. Got diarreha after eating the disgusting breakfast. Had dinner that consisted a piece of frozen fish with 2-3 carrots. Carrots were barely cooked and uncut.
Our reservation took forever to book. Our room was not ready till 6 pm. Our TV did not work and noone ever came to fix it even though we called the desk twice. The view was nice and the room was ok for cleanliness.
My parents bought property when Rio Rico first announced their Robert Trent Jones golf course in 1971, and we often spent family weekends at the resort. However, the last time we were there was in 1975.
I was treated to a return visit recently by a special friend and WOW has it changed! It was wonderful before, but now the vegetation has matured ...
Very remote, but beautiful. Comfortable room, but accessibility was difficult. Had to walk up two flights of stairs with our luggage, and we were on the first floor! Couldn't be helped though, as that is how the hotel was designed.
This is a first class place and the Dinning room food is wonderful for a great price! They have great golf package! its a great little Fun Golf Course!
Now called the Esplendor Resort at Rio Rico, this palace offers resort-style luxury for motel-level price. Our stay was nothing short of excellent. The staff was friendly, the services were excellent, and the dining in the restaurants were terrific. Most of the resort’s amenities were located on the same floor level, so access is fairly simple, ...
Getaway? Rio Rico is just what the doctor ordered!

We stayed at the now-named "Esplendor Resort at Rio Rico" 1/26-2/1, 2005, for a needed Michigan thaw. Needed a getaway from the grind of the city, and even Tucson was a bit too much hustle and bustle for us. This place was the PERFECT antedote. Nestled in a modest mountaintop overlooking the valley and river basin, it was quiet, ...
