Racially charged dangerous atmosphereThe bar is home to a local group of neo nazi's that scream to each other on the street when the bar lets out. Worse the management uses them as security and pays them with beer. When i complained about the noise, two drunk skinheads knocked at my door and it was very scary and I wont be back.2 of 3 Yahoo! the real thing, like going back in timeIf you are expecting a Ramada Inn or the like forget about the Monte Vista. I stayed there fifteen years ago - loved it then and loved it again this time.

Such a good time.I stayed for the second time at the Monte Vista last month. We arrived late (I emailed that we would) and they said there was a problem with my credit card and they were trying to book the room because they thought we weren't coming. Gave away our roomMy girlfriend and I came up to Flagstaff for homecoming. We stayed at the Monte V for two nights. The original reservation was set for two nights at $80. We received 1 night at $110. All Show, Don't GoTo start there is only 22 parking spaces for 55 rooms. Miss out and your in the street. I reserved a specific room, was told no problem, when I arrived I wasn't what I was promissed. The hotel DOESN'T LOOK like it does on the website. Don't be fooled. The Has Been HotelThe location in town is great inspite of the train noise. Although the hotel is old, it is far from charming. Other than celebrity pictures on some of the room doors there were no stories about them or evidence that they stayed here. The mouse was the final straw!What a disappointment. After visiting historic hotels in Durango CO and Denver CO this was quite a let down. Started off by not being able to find a parking place, then was unpleasantly surprised at the sparseness of the room, and incredibly small towels.
