The Millennium Hotel is my all time favorite in Anchorage, Alaska. I travel every 6 to 8, weeks on business and always stay there. Their beds are not too firm or soft. They offer regular pillows for those of us who do not like feather pillows. Usually, I can never sleep while traveling because of the noise. This hotel is quiet. The hotel ...

We moved over from the Best Western next door - they matched the price due to a low occupancy so contacting the front desk directly is key. Very nice establishment with shuttles to & from downtown on a schedule and "on call" to & from the airport a couple of minutes away. Public spaces are filed with trophies - the restaurant ...

Very nice lobby but thats it. Far away from downtown where everything is. For the same money you can get a top hotel downtown.

Wanted to Stay Longer
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/05
Our first trip to Alaska. The Millennium Hotel was beautiful and the staff was very helpful. We needed to change rooms at the last minute. The staff seemed to go out of their way to accommodate us. We stayed a week; it wasn't long enough!
Pros: Location near floatplane base is great for an aviation fanatic like myself. Good on-site restaurants. Helpful concierge. Hardworking (and apparently overworked) bellmen. Nice lobby.
Cons: Indifferent front desk service. No hot water one morning (for $229 a night I at least expect a hot shower in the morning). No one bothered to ...
The Milennium is one of the fun places to stay in Anchorage. As you walk into the lobby, you are transported to the rustic past of a hunting lodge with dark wood panelling, fireplaces and reminders of great hunting trips in the form of majestic mountings of all of Alaska's wild animals. The hotel has a great restaurant with ouside seating for ...

Great character but rooms are awful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/05/05
Looks like they are in the midst of a renovation. Rooms look like something from a bad 60's sitcom. Bar is fun and food is very good. Good location.

Very Alaskan and very nice for the $
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/03/05
The lobby is very unique and filled with priceless, some antique, trophy mounts. The two hotel restaurants overlook Lake Hood, a busy float plane airport adjacent to Anchorage International Airport. The rooms are very clean and a good size for the price, and the hotel staff are very friendly.

Poor

Rooms in need of renovation. Carpet smells bathrooms very old. Staff not friendly or helpful. We had and emergency and did not receive any support from the staff. Dinning room was good but pricey.
