I stayed at Hotel Silla for nearly 3 weeks and plan to stay again on my next visit to Florence. The hotel staff were wonderful- very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hotel is very clean and I was surprised to find the buffet breakfast on the terrace was included in the price. (The cappuccinos were amazing!) The location is wonderful, just ...

can't believe all these reviews

Don't believe that this hotel is easy walking distance from the sights of Florence. You must cross a very busy street to even find the bridge that takes you to the outskirts of the main part of Florence. It is a two elevator trip to get to a room. The ones I saw were very sparce so we moved on closer to town. I cannot believe that there are no negative reviews about this location. I loved Florence otherwise

Lucky discovery

Having spent a few months in Florence many years ago, and knowing my way around the city, I was looking for a hotel located within walking distance of the main cultural attractions, but away from the hectic city center. Hotel Silla was a perfect choice. A nice small plaza separates it from the Lungarno (the street that runs along the Arno River). ...

Fabulous Service!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/24/08
Hotel Silla is wonderfully located in the Oltrarno area of Florence - across the river - about a 5 minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio, and crossing the river about 20 minutes from the Duomo, at a very leisurely pace.
The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. I was in contact with them for many weeks prior to arriving, and they helped ...

They were very gracious and helpful and I did book 2 weeks in November. The staff kindly made reservations at the museums for us. I arrived and found the hotel to be perfect in every way The staff is friendly and very ...

A Florence gem!
By kahansen434, 01/04/08
I have stayed at Hotel Silla twice and highly recommend it to people traveling through Florence. It is minutes away from all the museums and shops, but is tucked away on "oltoarno" so it is quiet and peaceful. I can't imagine staying any where else in Florence.

I stayed at the Silla Hotel for 4 weeks and would always come back. The friendly and personal and perfect service, the charming room, the free internet access for my own laptop, the ideal location to all important museums and highlights of Florence, the direct vicinity to the Giardini Bardini and Boboli and the special character of Oltrarno with ...

Wonderful Room - Convenient Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/06/07
We loved the room, particularly the size. the Hotel itself was a pleasure. It was too chilly to enjoy the outdoor terrace for meals. Breakfast was included and the choices were generous.
We also appreciated the location. It was an easy walk to the Ponte Vecchio and other shopping. There were several restaurants on this side of the ...
