I stayed there once, and there was nothing I disliked. It is an old-fashioned "Grand Hotel", the rooms were perfect for me, and the staff friendly. It is located directly attached to Victoria station, and - except at night - you can go directy from the lobby to the station, without the need to go outside.
Breakfast is average. Certainly ...

Walking distance to Buckingham Palace and to Westminster. Very best link for public transportation. Use the Concierge. One of them is especially a great source of information. The rooms are old, but fine. Noise on the street side is a problem, but for increased cost one can stay on the executive area in back of the hotel. Perhaps earplugs ...

The people were friendly, the breakfast was fast with a good selection of items, the room was clean and a good size, the entrance to Victoria Station was right off the lobby and the location can't be beat - what's not to like about that? I stayed there last September and am planning on staying this September when I go back to London.
I read many reviews and wasn't expecting much. Victory Station which connects to the hotel is large and convenient. I had no complaints about the hotel or staff. Honestly the room was bigger than any room I have ever had in NYC and VERY clean. The bed was firm which is standard for most any hotel. Yes, I did hear the trains being announced in ...

This hotel has the best location for any type of trip. Bfast is also very good, quite a good choice. I would stay at this hotel again.
This hotel is a great location and is easy to find from the tube. The lobby was nice and our room was a decent size. The hotel style is old fashion, so the carpets and mirrors look old but clean. Reading other reviews, people seemed to complain about their room size, but I think it all depends on how many people are staying in a room and the ...

I loved the location, so central to what I wanted to see and do. Really liked having the Victoria station a few feet away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good everyday and the diningroom staff very quick, even on a day when everyone in the hotel seemed to show up at the same time for breakfast. The room was clean and ...
I stayed here about a year ago, and loved it. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. They even let me check in very early. The location was great also. Sometimes I could hear the announcements from Victoria Station, but it wasn't so badthat it kept me up all night. Overall I would recommend the hotel to anyone, and will actually be going back in a few weeks.

Will never return to this hotel.

Hotel room was worn out, windows were dirty, bathroom was dirty and fixtures dated. Tile in bathroom floor was cracked, shower curtain was mildewed.
This was all very disappointing as this was once a very grand railroad hotel, located right on top of Victoria Station with fantastic proximity to everything. The room was substandard, pure and simple, and we will not go there again unless there is a substaintial remodel.
April 7, 2006 If convenience is your only criteria, this hotel, located at Victoria Station is an adequate choice, otherwise avoid it at all cost. The magnificent lobby will deceive you. The real shock is when you get to the room. We stayed in room 410 at a cost of about $200 per night. The carpet was completely worn out – painfully we stepped on ...
