This hotel is located in the middle of Jacmel Haiti. It is close to the market and even closer to the ocean. We were able to buy fresh corn from the market and roast it on the beach with the locals. I met many local friends who are very willing to show you the sites of Jacmel, for a small fee. souveniers and Haitian gear are sold on the beach. ...

That is the response I got when I requested anything from the staff at LaJacmelienne, it could be done. I love Haiti, I love Jacmel and it's surrounding areas, the people are accommodating, friendly and the landscape is breath taking. We took a small boat out in the bay and the view back looking at LaJacmelienne surrounded by palms was a beautiful sight. It isn't perfect but neither is life. I hope it preserves it's natural beauty.

it is lovely... the service is great. they have a nice "panorama", a nice view. you really feel that you are in the caribbean. it is all that i can say
I loved it. Coming from New York , this carribbean peaceful environment was all I needed for a vacation with my family. Haitians are very welcoming contarily to what people think and I would recommend La Jacmelienne to anyone, and the food a Jacmel! woooooowwwwww, never tasted anything better in my whole life, Good food, good people, good place.
The Hotel grounds itself is respectable. I tried to get a room and only had american dollars, with my friends suggestion he said lets change the money and we will get a much better rate. The counter lady showed us 2 rooms and agreed on the price. We changed the money and returned moments later, to our suprise we were told the rooms are no longer ...

I know none of the five star travelers will appreciate LaJacmelienne or even Jacmel but, to the person who likes primitive and wants to be part of the people and their country while visiting, this place is perfect.
I will always miss the spot between the palm trees and will forever think about the boat ride in the bay and our ride on horseback ...

Friendly, smiling people but slow to respond in action. Beware being befriended by staff-some try to get money from guests by telling them pitiful stories of sick mother, need money to get final degree etc., or ask for emergency "loan" money 1 or 2 days before the stay is over (money likely will never be returned). The location is ok, weather is great and it is a poor country so one can't expect luxury so one should be prepared.
