The price of this hotel was ridiculously overpriced for the quality of the rooms. We were not impressed with any of it. This place reminded me more of a cheap motel off of the New Jersey turnpike than a comfy WV hotel.

As one person said while waiting in line to register, "Alpine Lodge is what it is..." What it is, is a family owned motor lodge that has everything you need if you don't need everything at you finger tips. Its a comfortable room for the night. The staff was friendly and the room exceeded our expectations - clean, warm, comfortable ...

The staff was very pleasant and friendly, as was everyone we encountered in the town. Very helpful in giving directions. The room was clean, and comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was awesome! I didn't find it to be noisey at all. The Sawmill Restaurant was great. Good food, good service. I have already reccomended to others, and we will be returning again ourselves.

Let me first explain why this place was not quite what I expected: It's not a Best Western. It hasn't been one for 4 years according to the lady that was working at the desk. That said, don't expect to find a bright, cheerful "Best Western" sign directing you to your lodging. However, given that Davis is a speck of a town, ...
