I'm from Abilene and I was hosting a friend from NYC for the week. When I learned she would be flying into Austin, I squandered to find a hotel for the two days we would be in town. I wanted to stay somewhere unforgetable! The Driskill ended-up being the perfect hotel. Elegance doesn't just stop in the lobby, it is protocal from the room to ...

The bar is amazing--very texan with the cowhide couches and leather barstools. Gorgeous, but not stuffy at all. Location is incredible--walking distance to many restaurants, bars and sights in downtown Austin. The ...
Alright, I'm biased, as I have strong childhood memories of this hotel and Sunday brunches:since then, the hotel has gone through several owners and massive reconstruction. peaceful, quiet, beauty, fun and austin is also a fun college town located near other great cities for entertainment. also, went to san antonio which is not that far away which is a very good.
you can rest in the lap of luxury at the driskill. the service is promt and the staffs attitude is great. the driskill has an over-all nice atmosphere, with an unbeatable brunch.
I like this place because it was very clean it had good service and the employees were very nice. The room were a nice size and the bathrooms were very clean.
The Driskill is in the heart of Austin's entertainment district. It has an old-style charm that can't be beat. The restaurant leaves a bit to be desired. A friend and I waited for quite awhile before abandoning the 1812 Room for a great place down Sixth Street.
