My wife and I make it to Charleston 2 to 3 times a year. It has become our home way from home. We stayed at the Lodge Alley once and were very disappointed. It was dirty and grungy compared to other places we've stayed in the historic district. Our room was supposed to be non-smoking but what they do is put an ionizer in your room for a few hours. The room reeked of smoke.

My husband and I just spent four nights at the Lodge Alley Inn, during the week of the first week of January. Our experience was first rate. The staff were courteous, prompt, and helpful. The room, which faced the street, was beautiful. We would gladly stay there again.

My wife and I are going back for our third visit and for us it is the only place to stay if you truely want to know what life in Charlesto sc is all about.

Lodge Alley Inn, was a wonderful place to stay while we were in Charleston, great service. It is located walking distance from most attractions downtown. Great place, I am going back this week with the whole family.

Smell of mildew upon walking into courtyard room. Found mold around vent in laundry room. Requested clean up twice and was ignored. Not typical of a Blugreen resort. Not typical of a "resort". Do not go if you are sensitive to mold! Details to comfort were not a priority at this lodging.

We own a timeshare at the Lodge Alley Inn. It's wonderful. People are great & helpful. It's not going to be perfect b/c it's several hundred years old. It has survived many hurricanes & the huge earthquake in the 1800's. It's downtown close to great food & shopping. Stay there you will love it.
