Me and my girlfriend recently stayed here at the Holiday Inn...oh i mean the Crown Plaza? this hotel was a complete joke. The crown plaza is supposed to have a certain calibur to there name and upon arriving we walked in the room and it felt a little...well...SMALL...i felt like a was at an upscale motel six...with about 10X the price. The ...

After making reservations at the Holiday Inn "City Line" for one smoking and one non smoking room, we arrived to find all their smoking rooms had been filled. They have 4 smoking rooms and two of them are being renovated. They plan on becoming a smoke-free establishment. NONE of this was explained when they accepted our reservation for a ...

Problems

The water in the shower came out black, and even with flushing the lines, it would not clear up...then, the front desk gave us a hard time about switching rooms!
Another room in our group had a soaking wet floor from some water leak beneath the floor.
Once again, the front desk was incompetent and rude to us.

they dont care who you are
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/07
They think they are gods and they dont care who you are. They can get many guests and so they never really care for you.

Only advantage is that its very near to some of the restaurants and you ...
The hotel is easy to get to. The staff is very friendly. The pool looks really great. However, the room was not clean. It had not been vacuumed or dusted. There was a wet spot in the carpet by the window (which do not open). The bed was extremely uncomfortable. It felt like the one in the Econolodge which costs half the price of the Holiday Inn. The mattress was so cheap - I wouldn't even buy one for my home. I would not stay there again.

The hotel is in great need of a makeover, it is very dated and dark. There was rust on several of the items in the batroom. The toilet was not cleaned. The carpet was extremely dirty and there was dirt and trash on the floor. The ironing board kept collasping while I was tring to use it. I never received my complimentary newspaper. For some ...

Very Nice Courteous & Clean A+!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/19/06
Nice clean indoor pool that opened at 6am - my 9-year old loved it! Great breakfast buffet with good food and very courteous restaurant employees. I don't know if they've made an extra effort to step up the service at this hotel, but our stay was wonderful! May is tourist season, so all decent hotels in Philly are $150.00 and up. This was ...
