Our most favorite Motor Inn accomodation in Long Island. You absolutely cannot find a better staff of people that service your needs at the Gateway. The front desk staff are just friendly folks who make sure that your stay at the Gaetway Inn is comforatable. Kevin Hofmann is the best GM you'll ever find..
Last time there were Bugs in my room and the manager did nothing however I did report them to AAA and BBB but never heard from them. had to stay there again for a couple of nights my room was great no complaints guess they know they need to keep the rooms clean and ordorless would recommend
This motel is NOT handicapped accessible. You would think that by now the owner would have spent a few bucks on painting handicapped parking spaces. A person in a wheelchair cannot use the lobby or the breakfast area. Only one room with one bed is available for the handicapped.
He also likes to throw handicapped people out in spite of the fact ...
I don't choose a hotel to be "blown away" by the various features that they offer. I am looking for a clean, comfortable, affordable room that is located to the attractions that I will be visiting. That describes the Gateway. The staff is wonderful and the breakfast is fine. The smoking rooms are a bit nasty to non-smokers like myself, but over all this hotel is a great choice for those who are watching their budget.
Easy to find, a good but short walk to the LI Railroad, restaurants near by, clean and a great deal for Long Island. Jones Beach is near by if you like fresh sea food and the Bellmores have plenty of good restaurants.
Rooms are clean and comfortable, desk clerks pleasant and helpful, and we particularly respect the lady who serves at the breakfasts on weekends. She is so efficient and solicitous that I asked her if she was a part owner. (She isn't)
I stayed there twice. It's a very good value for the money. Very clean rooms and friendly service. The continental breakfast is very good and better then most places. The only negative aspect of staying there was to get a few extra pillows, because they run out quick. Other then that it's fine.
We were very dissatisfied with this hotel. When we arrived our room was not ready, although I was 6pm, which is hours after the check in time. Our room was smelly, you could not even wash you hands, as the drain in the sink was broken. We had to use the bathtub to wash our hands, put in my contacts etc. Yes, the breakfast was great- but it better ...
The rooms are large, clean and pleasant. There is a very good continental breakfast served daily. Coffee is 24/7, and the staff will gladly find a hot chocolate for your kids (or you!) Staff is very friendly and repeat visitors are treated like family. Parking is convenient, and it is a short walk to the LIRR. Just buy your ticket before boarding as the LIRR has a hefty surchage for buying on the train.
