I stayed in this hotel in July 2007. I received a great rate and was guaranteed a renovated room. The room was modern and beautiful. It was very clean until the ceiling started to leak (not in the bathroom) but in the bedroom. It leaked at night and then leaked again in the morning. I think it was from the bathroom above. I was given no ...

The Worst!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/07
THE WORST!!!! Just got back from a miserable weekend at this hotel. First our plane was delayed (whole other story), even though we called ahead to the hotel 3 times to say that we would be late, they gave our city view room away by the time we checked in. There was also no one out front to help us with our bags (in the rain of course) when we ...
I searched for the perfect place for my 10 yr ann. The Essex exceeded all my expectations of a NY hotel. The beds were very comfy and the staff was wonderful. Our room overlooked all of Central Park and the fall colors were unforgetable...can't wait to go back!!

Great location and service.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/06/06
As to other hotels in the same area, Central Park South, this is by far better in value. The service is up to the Ritz's standards. The Botanica Cafe offers a nice breakfast buffet and great sunday brunch. We could not attend the Alain Duccasse restaurant. Our room had a frontal view of Central Park as requested. The hotel is undergoing ...
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel! From the moment I stepped out of the car, it became a memorable experience. The gentlemen outside with umbrellas to the crew at the reception desk to the greeters at the elevators to the friendly cleaning staff -- they were all helpful and cheery! My bed was extremely comfortable, and the noise factor was next-to-nothing. I highly recommend this hotel!
The location was great. We were able to walk everywhere from here. Central Park right across the street and Times Square about 10 minutes away. Everyone in the hotel was nice and helpful, the room was always clean, and the beds were so comfortable.
Incredible location with many things going for it. It is simply the best value for the money. THe staff is wonderful and caters to your every need.

We love NY and Essex House
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/05
Staying at The Essex House was a wonderful experience for us on our trip to New York. The staff, including the front desk employees, the concierge, the doormen, housekeeping, and the security employees were all very helpful from the time we got there until we left seven days later. The hotel is in a beautiful area, next to Central Park. Some of ...

Awesome Place - would stay again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/09/05
Excellent location, rooms very clean and good size especially for NYC. The heavenly bed was truly that! The hotel staff was helpful, except for the concierge who seemed annoyed when we asked her for some dining recommendations. We found the security staff and the bell staff to be the most helpful and often they would ask us what we wanted to do and provided great advice that made our trip even more enjoyable.
