This was the worst hotel experience of my life and I'm 60 years old. The place is filthy. I was afraid to turn out the lights for fear of what may crawl out from the draperies. The carpet was torn, the wallpaper peeling, the heater extremely noisy and the sofa had huge stains. It was outdated, dirty and depressing. There was not a place ...

The place needs renovations bad. The service was pretty good. But, the hotel overall just felt dirty. The heat wouldnt turn off so it was hard to sleep. And the bed was like sleeping on the floor. Wouldnt stay there again.

What we like The kindness of the service. The space of the room. The old fashion style The view from the 17th level
What we dislike In fact not much despite the fact that the metro is three or four blocks away
Upon arriving at the Beekman I was unsure about it. I am much more of a "luxury" hotel kind of girl, but was traveling with a family member who had booked the hotel. To my surprise, the Beekman actually made my weekend in Manhatten the best it could be! It's like having an apartment in the city, only bigger and nicer. The kitchen ...

Don't book it!

When I first checked in, my room was not at all as represented by the website. It was dirty, threadbare, un-renovated, and very warm. I turned on the air conditioner and waited for the room to cool. It didn't. I called down to the front desk and asked to be moved. They said they would call me back in five minutes. They didn't. After calling ...

What a fantastic vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/07
The staff was excellent, the rooms were very spacious and very very clean. The location was a bit away from the action, but it just made us see more of Manhattan that is beautiful. I will definitely return to this hotel.

Disappointment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/28/07
We just spent Memorial Day Weekend at the Beekman. Hot in NYC. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was out the entire weekend. It had been out for two days when we arrived!! When we asked they said they were working on it, but the repairman's shift was over and he was gone for the day! (NOTE: When the air conditioning isn't working, ...
Even though this hotel has outdated decor, the location is great and the service is perfect. You are within walking distance to central park, fifth avenue, park avenue, etc. The hotel restaurant is pricey, but the food is great and the view is spectacular.
From arrival to departure, this hotel definately surprised me. I am an avid visitor to NYC and have stayed in the the Marriotts, the Hiltons and the Embassy Suites. But I was able to find a deal online for this hotel and took a chance. The hotel staff was courteous and all of them remembered my name after meeting me once. I received a courtesy call ...
