  • Maine Inn-centive a great value
    By Shelly, 05/24/09
The Inn is offerring a package that includes dinner and breakfast, We saw the ad in the Boston Globe.

Reservations were very nice and informative. We received a room upgrade as it was mid-week and they had rooms open.

We stayed in Seabreeze 1. 2 levels and very nicely done. Jacuzzi, fireplace, walk-in shower. Fantastic view and private porch ...

  • A true Maine vacation!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/31/07
We were really taken with the Spruce Point Inn. We stayed in the Balsam Lodge in a Garden View Deluxe room. The room is huge with a very warm feel. White washed knotty pine in a new hotel room really made us feel like the hotel went beyond the call to make the whole place very authentic to it's roots as a traditional Maine resort.

    We had ...

  • Fantastic Maine Experience
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/07
We travelled to Spruce Point Inn this past August. We were truly delighted with our stay from check-in to check-out. Our children were with us and our border terrier Charlotte.

While the town is beautiful (although lacking in parking and quality shopping), we found ourselved not wanting to leave SPI. They serve 3 meals a day along with wine and ...

  • Worst Experience Ever
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/17/07
Everything about my weekend at the Spruce Point Inn was disappointing. The staff was rude, I was overcharged, the room was not clean, the "amenities" were non-existent. I would not recommend the SPI for anyone. There are better places to stay closer to town.

  • Expensive in July
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/05/07
We stayed in Bluebird #3 built three years ago.
    It still smelled new inside.
Ours was a "Gardenview Deluxe room".
Supposedly we didn't have an ocean view,
but from the porch on unit 3,
you can see the Burnt Island Lighthouse,
    a little bit of ocean,
and catch plenty of salt air breezes.
Including taxes and 18% gratuities, ...

  • Disappointing
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/06
We expected the Spruce Point Inn to be fashionable, elegant and sophisticated. It was neither. Our room was nice enough and comfortable although the advertised "Garden View" consisted of three dead trees and the backwall of another house. The room was missing a full length mirror. It had a fully equipped kitchinette which we did not ...

  • Superior
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/04/06
Beautiful surroundings. Beautiful pools. Lovely restaurants. Expensive rooms. Seclusion from any street sounds. Isolated but with water access to the harbor. They do not answer emails. Service is so-so but congenial. They have kayaks and bikes. 10 minute drive to town. Better than most accomodations in the area.

  • Overrated/Over priced
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/19/05
A beautiful location can’t hide some basic problems with the Spruce Point Inn. My wife and I recently shared a 3-night minimum, a $600 plus/night (including “hotel fees”) ocean-view efficiency cottage with our two adult children. The view was beautiful, but we felt that it should be at this rate. The cottage was clean and charming, but the floors ...

  • Best Resort in Maine
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/30/05
We stayed in the resorts new Lark Lodge. Cathedral ceilings, fireplace, marble bathrooms, soaking tub and walkin shower, sitting area, private porch and above all a fantastic view.

The salt water pool is sweet. Private and plush. We watched lobstermen pick their catch as sailboats eased by in the background.

Dining is fantastic in either ...

  • Comfort and Luxury
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/09/04
The Spruce Point Inn is replete with gracious charm. Located out of town on its own penninsula the inn consists of a main building and numerous, more recently constructed separate lodgings. We have never stayed in the main building so I can't vouch for the rooms there. The rooms in the Evergreen building where we have always been lodged are ...
