If you are the type to be out and about and don't need amenities this is the place. Reasonable to stay at but offers very little. There's nothing that stands out about this venue exept.. oh ya it's on MAUI!

Likes- The price for location was not bad. Front desk was friendly, nice pool. The kitchenette complete with dishes, soap, and counterspace made it feel like an apartment.
Dislikes- One building under construction made it look like a bad place, so humid with ac on that rooms felt damp(Lahaina is a hot, humid place). Overall, our ability to be able to walk 2 blocks to the marina and catch the boat home was worth it.

Our first room was so yellow with nicotine and smelled so bad that we didn't make it past the front door. Our second room was just as horrible. Yellowed walls, beat up rusted furniture, yellowed & rusty fixtures, hadn't been painted in eons. The furniture was early sleaze bag tropical. My mother cried her way through our first night ...

After reading terrible reviews of this place, I was very nervous to go to the maui islander. However, what a terrific value! THe place was always clean and serviced. The staff was courteous and even funny. I was so pleasantly surprised.

When we arrived, we were presented with a couple of upgrade options both of which included kitchenettes. its not a big beach resort but the staff was very caring, and helpful. The location is lahaina where most of the activites are, and many restraunts close by. I really enjoyed staying there.

The picture makes this place look much nicer than it is. Part of the hotel is under construction and boarded up. There is construction debris everywhere. The "suites" are small, dirty, and have poor air conditioning. I question the safety of this place. The folks in the next room were smoking pot and our room smelled like h**l. I could not wait to get out of that hell hole.

We stayed one night and it was not at all like was advertised. It was small and cramped. We were supposed to come back and stay 3 more nights but cancelled and found a better place.

I would not stay there again unless it was the only place left on the entire island!
