Best vacation of my lifeThis was in deed the best vacation we have ever taken anywhere. I loved everything about the Hale Koa from the moment my husband and I arrived. Wonderful TimeThis was our first time and we had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful, the people very friendly. If and when we go back there are a few things I would do different. I would not reserve a car at the airport. We rented a car ahead of time and we didn't need to, you can rent a car right at the hotel. They have shuttles from the ...8 of 9 Yahoo! The only place I'll stay on OahuIt's clean, friendly, and there's nothing like being in the company of warriors..past and present! The restaurants are excellent value for the money, the beach is close as well as both pools. The bars are friendly...the Bare Foot bar has the best MaiTai's on the Island. BEST DEAL ON THE BEACH!Who is/was the so called "professional" that said this was a 2 star hotel? Just the beach area alone is worth 4 ****s. It is a truly wonderful experience and a great benefit to those who are and have served. And of course the on-site resturants are equally well valued.4 of 4 Yahoo! Hale Koa GreatistI have been to the Hale Koa 4 times with my wife. I have never been disapointed at the hotel. The grounds are absolutely beauti full. Food was good and the people working there are great. The Bare Foot Bar is something else.Even if you don't drink the bar is a great place to go. My wofe and I go there when we stay at the hotel. We'll be back this December!I like the fact the hotel is military only, so you know people are going to be generally respectful. The cost is great for families and the service is wonderful! A Vacation All By ItselfWe stayed at the Hale Koa in March 07. We renewed our vows for our 10th anniversary under the Maile Tower Gazebo. It was a beautiful place covered in purple flowers with just enough privacy for our ceremony.
