If you're Military, you shouldn't stay anywhere else in HonoluluI stayed at the Hale Koa for the first time in 1994 and fell in love with it immediately. The open-air reception desk, the large palm trees and the huge banyan tree in the center of the ground level courtyard all add to the tropical ambience. Excellent Hotel & Staff!When my son was in the navy and
stationed for a short time at Pearl Harbor, my daughter & took the trip (from NJ) to Honolulu and stayed at the Hale Koa. The Staff was always helpful and pleasant no matter the time of day or night. A way to spend on what you really want!!My husband and I stayed at the Hale Koa in June 2004 for our honeymoon, we had a corner room that over looked the ocean and the city...it was GORGEOUS. Hale Koa 1986My family enjoyed the entire stay at the Hale Koa. We were PCSing from Hawaii to Pittsburgh, PA and was authorized to stay 10 days there during the Clearing Process. The Army paid for the Stay, but it was wonderful to stay there at the time. I would Love to go back and stay again. We liked everything about it. Fantastic Military LodgingHale Koa means House of the Warrior in Hawaiian, and the Hale koa truly does feel like home. This is a 5 star resort for military members and their families.

An awesome experienceAs a military-only resort, the Hale Koa offers security, safety, privacy and professionalism the way few other Hawaii hotels can! There is a decided advantage in knowing that the other hotel guests are also military families or retirees ... this really keeps things much more relaxed and comfortable. Wonderful way to spend your 25th anniversary.My husband and I spent part of our 25th wedding anniversary here. It was my first visit to Hawaii, and I absolutely loved it. The service was wonderful, the rooms clean and spacious, and the view was wonderful.
The location is wonderful - you can mix right into the tourist crowd, and return to a peaceful, safe retreat.

Best Buy for GIsThe Hale Koa was a fabulous place. The restaurants were reasonably priced and the food was excellent. The grounds around the HAle Koa were kept impecable. The rooms all have private lanais. There is a mini-BX that is well stocked with lots of stuff including a vast assortment of Hawaiian souvenirs.
