Always the best value, location and amenities in Honolulu. Brings back memories of sharing this lovely spot with my late husband, Navy Cmdr of 20 years service. Our favorite date was to get ice cream and walk down the beach. I pray for a room there as often as I can get to Hawaii.
I spend a weekend here and there at this hotel with the family...definately worth the money and the view is beautiful

This place is GREAT! We lived here for over 8 years, and I loved to bring my kids here for a "weekend getaway" The location is outstanding, in the heart of Waikiki. The weekend breakfast buffet's are a great value and great tasting!

Great Vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/04/06
We just spent 6 nights at the Hale Koa. It was a great vacation, one of the best we have ever had. The best rooms there are the oceanfront Maile Tower rooms on the upper floors. You have to begin by booking an oceanview room and then calling the hotel to ask for an upgrade. We enjoyed dining at the KoKo café. Ask for an outdoor table. This is ...
The hotel room is simple, but what a view! We stayed at a room with a balcony, could see the entire beach, great pictures!!
They have their own little PX with all the great souveniers you'll find on all the islands, for much cheaper... a great restaurant, walk to the barefoot bar and your ON the beach :o) It was a great stay for a great price :o)
Very short walk also to the fancy shopping, or the little hawaiian market street.
The day I went I was unable to get a room, but still had a great time utilizing the facilities like the gym, beach and restaurants. Incredible location and you simply cannot beat the prices in comparison with what is just next door.
The hotel is a real value...great activities...great location...however, the hotel is similar to a Motel 6...cheap bed linens...inadequate pillows...small...very few amenities within the room. The hotel needs to spend some money upgrading this place. The common areas are generally covered with trash (paper, cigarette butts, etc.) I have stayed ...

Great Hotel, Poor Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/08/06
Stayed this past May, the hotel and it's location are excellent our only problems came from an unwilling to assist managment and the worst service ever at the hotels downstairs restruant.
We stayed at the Hale Koa for 7 days and it was wonderful. My husband just came home from Iraq and the hotel gave us 30% off everything including food. The resturants were great!! The PX there had better deals on things to bring home than any of the shopping centers around. Our stay at the Hale Koa was cheaper even including eats than our plane ...
