The setting is really pretty. The buildings are set on a hillside of 18 acres so most rooms have a view of Mystic Harbor. We stayed in October, midweek, and it was very peaceful. We enjoyed walking the property and seeing chipmunks, squirrels, and groundhogs near the stream which runs alongside the property. The room was very clean and had a ...
The pictures and the descriptions are a total misrepresentation. This motel (that is really what it is) sits atop a hill and looks beautiful from afar. However, the qualities of the rooms are mediocre, even by motel standards, the service as best minimal and the room rates are ridiculous for the quality.
We were offered a water view room for a ...

Check the room before checking in

A slightly worn and grimy motel at metropolitan prices. Be wary of their photos on the website. We did not stay in the main house, so we can't judge that area, but our room was situated in the bottom level of a two-story motel - with a view of someone's SUV. Plus, if you need to work on the road you may not have Wi-fi available. Next time, we're going to a name-brand hotel.
If you love them, you'll love this place. if not, i suggest staying elsewhere. If you like rude innkeepers, you'll love this place...if not, i suggest staying elsewhere. In short, stay elsewhere.

The accommodations in the East Wing were absolutely sub-par. Our room smelled from mildew, had pealing wallpaper, stains above the toilet and jacuzzi as well as dirty floors and a broken fire detector. The ceiling in the bathroom was falling apart and in the bedroom was smoke stained. The carpeting was also stained and a gross purple that looked ...

Would not stay here again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/08
I just spent a night at this Inn, and I would strongly recommend that people avoid this experience. I called to book a room at " The Inn at Mystic", and was quoted a price. I took it, only to find when I got there that, for $187, I was booked into a substandard motel room. The carpet was dirty, the dead bolt was broken off the door, the ...
My wife and I came down up for a three night anniversary weekend. The brochures looked great and the reservation desk was very helpful and gracious when we booked our stay and checked in. We really enjoyed our trip, but unfortunately we won't be back as we pretty much exhausted everything the Inn and the area has to offer in about three days. ...

Deception At Its Best!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/03/08
If you look at the website for this place you think it is nice. You go to this place and you cant believe it is the same place. We were deceived by this! The room was not clean. The folks over at the Floodtide were rude at breakfast. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I read in another review where these folks said bad reviews ...

Relaxing and Charming
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/17/08
My wife and I spent last weekend at the Inn at Mystic. We purchased a package that included museum tickets and dinner at the Flood Tide restaurant. In the afternoon they serve tea (with pastries) which is an interesting extra that we haven't encountered before.
The food was very well prepared. I tried the salmon and my wife enjoyed the ...
