Excellent service and accomodations. Restaurant is very nice and the walk to and from is great. Try the 5 mile hike up the mountain, past 2 beautiful waterfalls and to expansive overlooks of Big Sur and the Pacific.

My husband and I decided to stay overnight to celebrate our ninth wedding anniversary. We were responding to an ad in our local newspaper urging "locals" to visit. We qualify, being just 90 minutes away by car.

The resort is beautiful, and beautifully landscaped. The views from its hilltop of the Monterey Bay were spectacular; we saw ...

so peaceful and magical our place to go when we want to rejuvenate. The hotel complements the setting. The staff is hospitable without being intrusive.

The place is plush rustic. The hot tub is not to be missed, with a male, female and couples section. A clothing optional area too. A great wine and cheese tasting and breakfast thrown in. Make sure to take the walk to the restaurant, a short beautiful hike lit up at night. But, this place got a little too pricey for me lately. I would definitly go on a special occasion, otherwise not in my budget.

I have been here for several vacations and just LOVE it. I love the quite, the animal life, the stars at night and the beautiful relaxing walk to the resturant.

The only problems I have had was on my last visit, when the water pressure was sooo low that the shower wouldn't even work and the window screens need replacing/repair on some rooms to keep out the mesquitoes.

We live in Ohio and have been going to Ventana to have lunch for 15 years. They serve a great lunch but that's not why we eat there. We go there for the view. A view that's unique even in Big Sur.
