We've been a frequent customer of the Del over the past several 4th of July holidays and I have enjoyed them thoroughly. We keep coming back.
However, I must say this years stay at the Del has been the most disappointing we've ever experienced, not just at the Del, but anywhere. We travel the country and ...
The hotel was very clean and the service was great. The Morning Buffet was one of the best I have had.

our family vacay
By ggpop, 02/17/09
The best vacation our family has gone on in quite awhile. The beach room was just absolutly beautiful, we could just walk out our patio right on the beach. The hotel was just as advertised with areas that exceeded the pictures.Food was a little pricey, the breakfast buffet was worth every penny. The shops had some excellent prices on clothing. You get what you pay for. Service was very good and our room was always fresh and cleaned, no complaints.

Be Careful with your credit cards and Cash
By criss d, 01/07/09
My Girlfriend went to the Hotel Del and while there her locker was opened in the Spa and her money and Credit card was taken. Could it have been an employee? Well since she was the only person in the Spa and since the lockers have a code that only her and they know, I will leave it up to you. The final would I can give you is to be careful and keep an eye on anything you do not want to lose.

Ruined Our Wedding Dreams
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/22/08
I want to start off by saying that my fiance and I chose the Hotel del above all other Southern California locations to host our wedding next year. My fiance's family has 3 generations of Navy officers that were stationed in Coronado, so it was quite a significant place for us to tie the knot.
Everyone was very eager to help us get our ...

A one time experience

So I have a knack for picking out some of the nicest places to stay, but I learned my lesson on this trip, nice is not always the best. We booked online and was unaware of the $25 a day mandatory resort charge, that includes the same things that you get at a holiday inn (like an in room coffee maker) except for the broken down beach chairs that ...
For $1,600 a night for a studio suite you would think that the maids could actually vacuum the sand up off the floor and maybe empty and clean the hot tub. Call me crazy, but I would have thought they could have collected the coffee cups up and cleaned them, but I guess I was expecting too much. The hot tub was a $100 option as part of the room and ...
Upon arrival, our room had hair in the bathtub and on the floor. The room smelled horrible. The children in the next room were allowed to hang towels all over the balcony. Our room was cleaned really late daily. Room was small (gee, what would one expect for $900 a night). The food was just ok. The spa was extremely over-priced. Room service took a ...

April 2008 Visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/17/08
If you enjoy over priced accomodations and food while egulfed in a mass of screaming children then this is the place for you. My new husband and I stayed one night and will never again return. The historic ambience is completely lost in a wash of low quality additions and decor. If you prefer greater s luxurary and style on the ocean side at a lesser cost visit La Jolla.

Beautiful, Historic Hotel!

We stayed in the California Cabanas and loved it. Service was great! Stay away from the Ocean Tower rooms. Our first floor cabana room had a patio and we could walk right out the back door to the beach. Well worth the price in these rooms, plasma screen, marble bathroom, cozy beds. If money is no object stay out in the suites on the beach.
