I asked several times to have a maid come by the room and replace the towels and vacuum. They never did and the people at the front desk were short with me. I witnessed them arguing with someone else about the same thing.

I'm glad to see this motel exposed for what it is: a cheap dive. The worst part is the complete lack of customer service. They want your money and they don't care if you ever come back again.

There is so much mud around this place. No grass at all. Of course you track it in, and of course a million people have tracked it in before you get there. So rooms are all brown. Don't walk around in your socks. Maid service, since that seems to be a concern of many, only changes the towels.

Here's the list: the carpet was stained, the curtains were ripped, the service clerks were obnoxious, the breakfast was cold, the rooms were small, the web site is misleading, and the prices are different than quoted. There are hundreds of better hotels in Big Bear.

Shouldn't you be able to stay in a clean room with a helpful staff? Isn't it your money? Not at the Big Bear Frontier Lodge. Here it's dirty rooms with money that they take. They don't care about the customers and do not respond to complaints or letters or phone calls. Be warned. This place is mean and dirty.

They changed the rates that we had reserved when we arrived. Manager told us if we didn't like it we could go somewhere else. The Better Business Bureau gives them an "unsatisfactory" rating due to multiple, unanswered complaints. If you stayed there, make sure you file one too. This place is awful.

In a nut shell, if this is the last place on the mountain to stay go home. Management really doesn't care if your stay is positive or negative.
