Excellent value and great location!The Cal Mar Hotel Suites are ideally located just a block away from the famous Third Street Promenade and a 5 minute walk to the Santa Monica Beach and coastline. Our room was clean and the staff and front desk were exceptionally friendly.OVERALL

Good value for traveling families.We stayed for 3 nights in June and was pleased with the amount of room in the unit. Full kitchen, plently of storage space. We were very comfortable. This was our second trip to the Cal-Mar, will go back for sure!!!The apartment was very big, there was 3 of us but plenty of room. The staff could not have been nicer, and very clean rooms, and the location is great for Santa Monica. Thanks to all the staff..2 of 2 Yahoo! not for the non-smokers or light sleepersmost of the hotel guests smoked right outside their room and because of the garden style lay out the smoke and noise came right in the bedroom windows as did the lights from outside.
For $250 per night it was very overpriced. The only good thing about the experience was the location, which is lovely.
The concierge help was also fine.
