Had a terrible experience with this hotel and do not recommend it. The staff checked me into my room and then pulled me out the following day saying I did not have a reservation. It ended up being a mistake on their part and were very rude about it all. Rooms are the most outdated I have seen and I travel a lot. Rooms are also not very soundproof and the traffic outside is very loud.
Worst hotel I have been in as a business traveler.
I could tell you about a number of positive features but they are all outweighed by the most important negative feature. The noise factor. Every room has windows that the hotel has chosen not to upgrade so you get to hear every street noise - as if you're bed was on the street! The hotel is clearly aware of this problem so they leave ear-plugs ...
The hotel was just as I expected in the lobby and service areas. Room was a little old, expected with a historic hotel. Room was dusty...really dusty. Bed seemed clean. Traffic was noisy at night. $40.00 a night for parking but to me it was worth it! No being alone in the parking garage or looking for a parking space. I would stay there again for the right discount price.

I loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/07
i liked the hotel because the food was delicious and the hotel looked outstanding. I liked everything and i didnt dislike anything. The beds were relaxing and comfy and it was just like being in heaven. My first thoughts were that i couldnt wait to explore and when i did i was astonished at how good the hotel actually was!
Every inch of this historic hotel is magnificent..every little detail beautiful.
The room/bath may be considered small when compared to todays standards but it was far from being cramped & they were done very well to maximize space.
We arrived late (12:30am) so we weren't able to visit the restaurants or bars. Since they were closed ...

Do not stay! Don't pay attention to the photos or anything you read that makes you think it is worth the price. Before I arrived I call the night supervisor to confirm my reservation. "I will tell you what you what the room will be..just listen" as she barked the difference between adjoining and two rooms next to each other. Very ...

Fine, but Internet isn't free

I stayed at the Biltmore for a conference, so I can't speak to whether or not it is a good location because I never left the hotel! My room had a view of a brick wall, but since I wasn't paying for the room, I didn't complain. It is an older hotel, so the room was small and the tv is small and older, but it was comfortable and I ...

Great Value

Just stayed overnight in downtown LA at Millinium and it was a great experience. It is a magnificant and beautifully restored historic building. Our room was smaller but very, very elegant with a walk-in closet! Martini bar sexy, breakfast elegant.
Right in the center of old LA and thus we took an architectural tour the next morning. highly recommend this hotel.

Called our new home after The Biltmore
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/02/07
What a surprise this Hotel was when we arrived in Downtown L.A. in 2006. The building is magnificent, the history was so interesting and we felt so special just being part of the place for a couple of nights. The breakfast at Smeraldi's was memorable and watching a wedding couple have their photos taken as we sipped coffees by the fountain was great. Have to go back just one more time in our life and are doing so in 2008 - can't wait.
