Bright Angel is THE best place to stay if you want a spectacular view of the Grand Canyon by stepping out your door. Spend the extra $$$ & get a cabin room... more private, you do not hear your neighbors, you have your own fireplace, you can walk to the lodge or El Tovar. Best yet, you are, literally, ON the Grand Canyon rim by taking 30 steps ...

Our bargain, bare-bones dorm-like room was clean and simple, with a sink but no private bath, double bed, alarm clock radio (no TV). To be honest, I expected something more rustic! Shared baths were OK. The room was spacious enough for myself, husband and two suitcases. We could hear nearly everything in the next room through the locked, connecting ...

what a view!

We stayed in a rim cabin, very affordable, but not first class accomodations. The mattress was very worn and sunken in the middle. The view of the Grand Canyon from our cabin window made up for any discomfort from the mattress. I've stayed at El Tovar but will always prefer a rim cabin with that wonderful view over the fancy rooms at El Tovar. If you love Grand Canyon you'll appreciate the rim cabin!

Bright Angle Lodge

My husband and I visited the Grand Canyon in February of 2004 and stayed at the Bright Angel Lodge. We stayed at a rim cabin with a fireplace, literally 40 feet from the Canyon's edge. We viewed its splendor from our front window. I'd read that some guests have had noise problems (the walls are thin), but our neighbors were considerate ...
