The hotel was nice BUT we had two expensive gold necklaces taken from our hotel room in the afternoon. We made the report to the hotel and called the police. We think we know who took them and don't think it was a maid. We are waiting to hear from the detectives in Birmingham. Friends of ours were also staying and they had items stolen the same afternoon.

WILL NEVER GO BACK!

The hotel allows partying with excessive noises; partying guests knocking on doors of other guests; kicking doors; screaming; profanity; drunkenness. This is not an atmosphere to stay for any rest, relaxation, or children. The staff was unable to control or stop the partying. The party lasted until 5:45a.m. and nothing was done. It is much over priced for this type of service.
We have family that books a room here every year for City Stages and it is in the best location for the festival. Right near gate entrances.
My Wife and I also booked this hotel for guests to stay at during our wedding which was across the street. Everyone that we heard from enjoyed this hotel.

Great Loaction in downtown Birmingham, excellent resturant with a great diverse menu. The service throughtout the hotel was wounderful, the room were very clean and the bed was great.
I have traveled to Birmingham over the years and even used its airport as a bivouac (impossible as it may seem). This hotel has been a consistent pleaser for several years. The typical traveler when coming to Birmingham seems to expect something for nothing.. I don't and as well I get something when I come here and can usually get a pretty good ...

Last week, my company reserved a room for me at The Tutwiler, a historic hotel in downtown Birmingham. I read the Yahoo reviews and was a bit concerned, but they assured me that the hotel had been completely renovated. Boy, had it ever! It was great.
I arrived with my rental car and was greeted by Terri, the Bell Captain. She said her title ...

While we were there some of the rooms were being renovated so it was a little bit noisy and meesy with constrution dust. Great location close to the park and easy access to downtown shopping. Great relaxed atmosphere, lovely lobby. Perfect site for the small convention we were attending.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/27/07
I just returned from 4 nights at this hotel..and I have no complaints! The staff was very nice and accomidating, delicious food, VERY comforatble bed in my suite. I have no complaints about the hotel or staff - they are undergoing a renovation to be complete this spring (and changing from a Wyndham to Hampton Inn, i believe), and this was clear ...
