The setting is beautiful, especially at night. The hilltop location produces a refreshing breeze. Wildlife is a nice addition, e.g. baby rabbits and lots of bright colored birds with soothing songs. Food is good. Try the herbal teas. Very romantic setting.

  • Everyone should stay here
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/21/06
We booked this resort on the strength of it's appearance in a UK brochure, then read really bad reviews on the internet!
All we can say is that the rooms, the location, the service and especially the evening restaurant meals were very very good!!!
The comments left by (mainly) Americans were heavily critical- these reviews are innacurate and ...

  • Phooey!

This place is a joke...the food is fair at best...and the 'service' or lack of is the worst. We stayed only one night....even at 119.00 I felt Ihad been 'smacked'. You know I think the front seat of my car would have been more accomodating......
Dont even go near the place...run the other way!

Let's face it, this hotel is no longer called the Ritz Carlton for a reason. The location of the hotel and sometimes the service by the pool or parking attendants is welcome. The rest of the service is average. The rooms are ok, but any decent Vegas hotel these days will beat the crap out of it. I mean come on, the bathroom and bed are the ...

  • Lack of service and style
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/21/05
From the point I checked in (told I had a view of the pool and ended up facing the opposite direction into a tree) to when I checked out (billed twice for the same night and lots of confusion over the 2-day old mini-bar items), I just felt like everything was mediocre to poor. My trash never got emptied, the toilet stopped up, the room itself was ...

  • Service needs to be improved to earn Stars
    By Lynn, 05/20/05
First of all, the Lodge at Rancho Mirage is a beautiful location, with sumptious grounds and common spaces. The refurbishing from the former darker interiors of the Ritz Carlton is a welcome improvement.
Our room was comfortable until the air conditioning didn't work and the manager on duty at midnight when we returned to our room told us ...

  • Great pool with Great views
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/01/04
Overall, nice hotel. Comfortable well appointed rooms. We wish they had coffee pots in the rooms though. Most resorts that charge $15 per day resort fee do. Service was attentive yet they seemed understaffed. It took forever to get our room cleaned. Workout facility needs attention. For the life of me I could not figure out why they laid cow manure down on the croquet lawn on Thanksgiving Day. The smell was awful!!!

If you want to lounge by the pool and sip cool Lava Flows, you can do that in beautiful surrondings, here at the Lodge. Great grounds, large lawns and landscaped areas. Wonderful warm staff, ready to help out. The rooms are large, the beds so soft with feather down comforters, balconies, and large bathrooms. All the amenities you would expect ...
