Booked hotel for stopover on Honeymoon. Hotel reception staff rude, room dirty cramped. Corridor stacked with cardboard boxes.
A budget hotel should still be safe and staff polite. I dont run with the idea that if a rooms cheap dont expect safe, clean rooms and some measure of politeness.

Worst hotel ever stayed in, but great location & dirt cheap.
So you pays your money and takes your chances.

The Hotel Edison is in a great location. It is just around the corner from Times Square. My mother-in-law and myself stay here every other year when we make our bi-annual trip to NYC!!!

I Stayed at the Hotel Edison 2 years ago , the Hotel was in a perfect location, staff very friendly and the main reception area very grande. The only problem for myself was the room I stayed in. It was dark no tea or coffee making facilities not much of a view looked onto a car park! also when you were trying to sleep the sound of the lifts going up and down was not good.

I hated New York anyway.
Room was pokey. No tea-making facility.
Whole place felt grubby. We paid £146 per night for the room.A rip of compare to £67 per night for the best Hotel in Hong Kong by far.Everybody actually asked for a tip- can you belive it. I don't mind tipping but thie was Jessie James stuff.

We enjoyed the warm, friendly, atmosphere. I loved the 40's and 50's decor. The room was comfortable and clean. I would definitely reccommend this hotel.
