I have been to the Edison twice...once in May 07 and once in Dec 05, both times the service was very nice, the rooms were very clean, and of course, the location did not change and it is FANTASTIC.

The first time we had a deluxe room and if you can afford the extra, it is well worth it, LOTS more space. The second time we had a standard room ...

Many many years ago I visited New York and stayed at the Edison hotel. As I wanted to return someday , reading all the other reviews do not think I will stay there again , because way back in 1981 it was allready old ,dated, sort of musty, smallish ,had small hope it had been refurbished/remodelled but no. So I will look elsewhere for a great hotel even a few days to enjoy as a tourist.

The hotel is in a great location close to Time Square and is in walking distance of most attractions .The rooms are a little on the well used side but are very clean.My 20 year old daughter and I were happy with the price compared to other hotels in that area .

The wonderful location cannot be beat. The attitude of employees was wonderful with the doorstaff and the housekeepers. Not so with the concierge or front desk. Rooms small, hot and dated. Hallways are stale and need cleaning. Beds comfortable, room and bathroom were cramped.

The only good thing about the hotel was the location, close to everything in mid-town Manhattan, theatre, Times Square, restaurants, Central Park, Subway, etc. No one seemed happy that worked at this hotel, long faces, not very helpful; simple questions, like "How far to the Subway, how does it work?" No one would answer the simplest ...

the hotel was in a good area as far as walking distance to certain attractions but the location was next to the trash barge that did not smell very good at all. the rooms where very small and the mattresses where old and worn out in the middle they had a dip in it, our door knob on the bathroom door fell off, the sink was stopped up, the air ...

This is an ideal hotel for those who are looking for a room for the night in a great location at a decent price.

Add to that the decor in the lobby, and you have a real "find" in the centre of the action in NYC.

good location.majority of the staff were friendly and helpful.room was clean and comfortable.maid service very good.no tea/coffee making facilities in room.requested boiled water to make 9 month old grandsons night.time bottle but were told at reception that they were unable to help,despite cafe edison being next to desk.overall good value for money.
