Apparently there is a difference between the Carmel Sands Lodge and the Carmel Lodge. We have stayed in Carmel numerous times, and since we booked this one last minute - thought it would be okay. average motel, continental breakfast consists of fruit. no big hoo-ha in regards to the pool. however, it is walking distance of practically everything.. no real view, cable tv, good if you just need a place to rest at night.

We have stayed at the Carmel Sands many times during the past 10 years. The location is perfect, walkable to anything in Carmel but on a quiet street. There are 2 buildings and the newer "back building" is the nicer of the two with more spacious rooms and renovated baths. The front building is comfortable, clean and the rooms slightly ...

I stay in Carmel 4-6 times a year and this is my place. The staff is fantastic and the location cannot be beat. The price is the best in the town. You cannor find a better deal around, trust me.

We have been staying here for three years and always get the same room (130), which is darling; it's huge and has a beautiful real fireplace to snuggle by. The staff is always friendly and they always make sure we get our room! It's close to everything. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else!

Not a fancy hotel, but clean, well run and in a very convenient location. Rooms are spacious, but with old decor. Pleasant and helpful front desk staff. Good value for the low room rate.
