We've been to NYC a dozen times, in a dozen different hotels. WSH is the best hotel. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable with nice linens. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The location is great starting point in any direction. We plan on staying there for 5 days in September and we looking forward to another great stay at WSH!
We stayed at WSH for a weekend in November. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. The WSH is a boutique hotel and the experience there was a refreshing departure from the corporate hotel experience that most chain hotels offer. We both travel for work and stay at boring chain hotels - places where you ...

The location is right of of Washington SQ. Park and if that is the area you enjoy than this hotel is for you! No need for Cabs. The area is full of things to do without all the people of uptown. Great restuarants in the area. Babbos is right across the street is a highy acclaimed fusion/Italian restuarant. If you go to NYC I would worry less of the ...

A disappointment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/06
I booked the hotel in April when we found out my daughter was going to NYU. It has a great location. I booked two double beds as we were going to have one room. I also booked a room for parents weekend- two double beds. Neither reservation was kept for a double bed. They are listed as one queen. The rooms are quite small. My husband slept on the ...

We'll be back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/06
The breakfast is alright, but it could still be improved!
Our room was quiet, which is important!, but the view into the narrow 'backyard' is not very enchanting. Can one improve it by making it look more friendly by adding lighter colors?
The neighborhoods - the village, the square, the University, the short connections to Manhattan at large, are assets difficult to top.

One of New Yorks Best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/30/05
Had one of the best trips to N.Y.C thanks to the Washington Square Hotel. The location is great and the people that work in the hotel. They couldn't have been nicer.

Simply Beautiful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/01/05
Housed in an historic building on the edge of Washington Square Park in New York's Greenwich Village, this hotel has been beautifully renovated. It's cool hand-painted tiles on the walls give it a 1940's movie star glamour. The rooms are small but very elegant. Everything you need is there and perfectly accessible. The staff are ...

The BEST!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/25/05
Washington Square Hotel is without a doubt the best value in Manhattan . . . period. Even without it's budget price it would be worth the stay. Had stayed during its renovation in years past, and all was wonderful, even then. Location, location, location; ambiance; service; convenience; staff. As a previous Manhattanite who had turned his apartment over to out-of-town guests, it was comfortable for a week's stay.
We got last minute reservations here during the Holiday season last winter and it was a wonderful surprise. The hotel does not have a lot of frills, but they make up for that in comfort, cleanliness and helpful staff. The rooms although not spacious were very clean, bed extremely comfortable with beautiful linens. Perfect for someone who needed ...

Tiny rooms, great location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/01/04
You didn't know there were hotel rooms this tiny, but hey, it's New York, everybody's crowded into small spaces, so get in the spirit. On the plus side, the location is phenomenal, if you're a fan of downtown. Not a bad price considering it's Greenwich Village. A good choice if you're traveling on your own dime.
