I've paid for many a room night in the Hollywood Blvd. area over the years, including staying at the Roosevelt - and Orchid Suites is my favorite of all the place I've stayed. I worked in hotels for seven years, and I've never been so impressed. The room prices are amazing, just an incredible value. The rooms are huge, sparkling ...
My mother booked this hotel for their first time visit here in the US. The only room available for 4 people is a smoking room which cost $140+/night. We really didn't care if it was smoking or non-smoking since a room is a room, as long as it's clean then it should be ok, right? We we're very much mistaken, the moment we entered the ...
3 years ago i was staying at the Rooseveldt hotel, where i had stayed many times before.I was so disappointed wuth the service, staff attitude, noise levels in the rooms and inflated prices,i was walking around the neighbourhood when i stumbled upon the orchid suites{my lucky day}Since then i have stayed at the o.s and only have good things to ...

Wonderful Gem in the Heart of Hollywood!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/02/08
This hotel is tucked behind the Kodak Theater on a side street. It is just a minute slow walk to the delivery entrance of the Hollywood and Highland complex! The hotel parking is secure, the staff is friendly and the price cannot be beat! The rooms used to to be apartments, so they can be HUGE. If you want a place with a great view, then ...
For the price you can't beat it. Right behind the Kodak theatre. Walk out the hotels front door and hang a right and a quick left and walk up to Highland then to Hollywood blvd...or hang a right and walk up the ramp right into Kodak theatre lobby and mall. I'm pretty sure this place was just another small apartment complex for singles and ...

Very clean and conveniently located in the heart of Hollywood. The strip attractions are walking distance. A bit tricky to find it. Lots of things to see and do in the area without having to pay for parking.

Great Location, friendly staff, recommended
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/07
I stayed for 2 nights and booked at the last minute. The room was clean and tidy and very large with full kitchen, not that I used it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is excellent and would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a reasonable standard of accommodation at a good price. There was the 5 star hotel next door if you have lots of money.
Great location if you want to see downtown Hollywood; safe walking distance to attractions, even at night. Secure underground parking is a plus. Be warned that the hotel is very old and outdated.

A gem in Hollywood
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/06
Hotel was pleasant surprise. We found it clean, friendly and excellently located. We wanted something close to the Pantages Theatre without paying a fortune or being in a seedy Hollywood hotel. We loved the Orchid and it's old style charm.
We are planning another trip back next month. The free secured parking was an added plus.

The hotel is a little dated, but clean and in a great location. I have stayed at nearby hotels and experienced parking headaches. This hotel has their own parking garage and you don't have to worry about parking spots. If you've never been to Hollywood, this location is fantastic. Right behind the Chinese Theatre, The Kodak Theatre, ...
