We stayed in the large suite (hot tub, kitchen, parlor) on the second floor of the Victorian with a nice view through filthy windows overlooking the harbor. Please don’t call this a bed and breakfast, for the “two course” breakfast was nothing but a couple of eggs with chopped mushrooms thrown in. (No options) There was a meager ...

Great getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/09/07
I have stayed here twice and have had a great experience both times. The rooms are large and very clean, the decor is new, the beds are comfortable and we love the turn down service. The location is perfect and the food is excellent.I highly recommend this Inn

A bit of sunshine in cloudy Humboldt
By polishguitar, 01/31/07
I recently stayed at the Carter House Inn, and had a quiet, but very lovely stay. After driving all day, arriving in time for wine and hors d'oeuvres was very welcoming. From there, we dined in the amazing Restaurant 301 and had our heads float away with the wine they suggested for us. Our room was warm and cozy with a fireplace. Breakfast in ...

One of the most relaxing vacations we've had...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/23/07
The cottage we stayed in was not only private but beautiful and serene. We enjoyed spending quiet time inside at night sampling the wine we purchased at the hotel's wine shop while during the day we sunned on the private deck. It was so nice to be away from the crowds of Mendocino and Napa...and enjoy the beauty of the Northcoast. The staff ...

Noisey
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/06
The overall ambiance and service was quite remarkable. We stayed in the entire top floor of the Victorian across the street from the main hotel. It was beautifully furnished and it showed a lot of attention to detail. There were only two draw backs to our returning to the hotel. The first was the traffic noise from such close proximetry to Hwy ...

Really,.... not my place!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/03/06
Who has written these other reviews, the owners? It is a very clean!!! The service and Location are Not spectacular! The price isn't to bad if you were staying in L.A or N.Y.C, but for Northern Cal, it's a bit much. I loved the meal my husband and I had there, but the suite we had gotten was pretty plain.

Beautiful Inn!!!! I've stayed a number of times. I love the rooms the meals, and of course the wine list. The only thing I do not like about the experience at the Carter House Inns is the hotel service. There is one young man in paticular who that will practically beg you for a tip when he helps you to your room. The management is also very ...

Elegance is Waiting for You
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/23/05
If you are desiring an elegant evening dining in the gourmet restaurant of the inn or just want to relax in luxury of your exquisit room, then this is the place for you. The staff is more than professional and each guest is treated as royalty. The Inn, in its classic architecture, is nesteled in the quaint part of Eureka: Old Town which is near ...

It is luscious!

I liked the central location and the local suggestions for shopping, hiking, nature walks and beaches to walk, surfing, any type of activity that is interesting. My room was very cozy and comfortable. I had an in-room tub with jets, so I was very comfortable, clean and relaxed during my visit. The wonderful buffet included the next morning is ...
