After going up & down "motel row" and being discouraged by the upwards of $100 for the "chain" motels, I felt luck to find the caboose. For 79 bucks, I found my room quite acceptable, clean, cute, and the staff was friendly. I'd stay there next time passing through Durango. I'm not sure what these other reviewers ...

We had a very bad experience with the owner and would not recommend this motel to anyone, friend or foe.
we were able to take a few days stay in durango, and we stayed at the caboose motel. it was the charm of durango- not a chain, they take pride in their rooms-you can tell! clean and the extra touch was perfect. helfullstaff ,and what a nice town. we will be back, and send friends enjoy the

this place is a family owned dump. Its old and dirty with unfriendly staff. Not worth the money. I'd rather motel 6 at least they leave the light on. Not sure how they are still in business. Family and friends must have wrote some of these other reviews

The best of both worlds!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/27/08
I have always been one of those who stay at the major chains; you just have a much better chance at getting the good night sleep you need without all the quirks that come with a small motel. This place was not only clean but one of the best kept charming spots I have found!! They have a fantastic staffand I actually save quite a bit of money ...

Never go back

One of the refrigerators didn't work and our food spoiled. The occupants next to us found a mouse in there toilet. We had no phone in our room and was told after the fact that that is why ...

NEVER ANYWHERE ELSE TO STAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/24/08
LOVLEY, HOMEY AN D VERY WELL KEPT. WE WERE TREATED LIKE FAMILY. IT IS THE ONLY PLACE WE WILL EVER STAY AND RECOMMEND, IN THE TOWN.
This small, older "mom and pop" type motel is nice, especially since it is less expensive. Little kitchenette with pans and utensils provided. It isn't loaded with amenities, and isn't "stylish" but is comfortable enough and clean. I would stay here again since I am in the area for what I can do there, not sit around ...

Not what we expected
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/07
There are several outstanding reviews of this hotel on the Yahoo sight but I think these reviews may have been written by the hotel owner or their friends to draw in business. HOWEVER when you get there you will see that this hotel is old and dingy with wood paneled walls. The beds was hard, the AC was an old weak window mounted unit, the TV was ...
