Worked for this family before in mackinawWarning, about eight hotels in Mackinaw City are owned by the same family (along with about four restaurants). They lie and will cheat you. None of the rooms are truly non-smoking. The comment cards are sent to their detroit area residence, so always call corporate. Not Worth It!We had reservations at the Comfort Suites across the street, sign on door said to go to Hamilton for checkin and room key. Over there they said we could stay there and have a lakeview room and still get our Choice Privleges points. (I just checked our points - it's shows we cancelled our Comfort Suities room ). Almost ruined our whole vacation!!First of all we were told that there would be FULL and OPEN access to the indoor water park across the street from us. We specifically told them the dates we would be arriving and leaving and were assured the indoor water park would be open and free for our use! We will be back!On our way back to Canada from Florida we make the Hamilton Inn our preferred place to spend a quiet relaxing evening. We enjoy the water view, the cleanlinss, the pool, exercise room, the breakfast bar, the atmosphere and last but not least the very welcoming staff. Thanks for a great stayThanks for a great stay. The room was roomy and comfortable. The breakfast bar was great. It was nice to have 5 bath towels; usually I have to ask for the 5th towel even though I booked the room for 5 people. But not this time, you anticipated our needs even left 2 shampoos and extra soap. We will definately stay here again. Thanks for your thoughtfullness.1 of 1 Yahoo! Pleasant stay, No complaintsWe checked into the hotel not knowing what to expect after reading the reviews. We were offered an upgrade to a larger room for an extra 10.00 per night. We were told that we did not have to accept it but it was available if we would like it. This place was deceptive and filthyArrived in our "beautiful lakefront " $191 room to find bugs smashed on the walls. Disgusted, pulled the bed spreads back to find soiled sheets, blankets with cigarette holes and bodily fluids on them. (This was supposed to be a non-smoking room). Our experience was goodI was wary after I made a reservation and then checked online reviews, but our overall experience was very good. We stayed over the holiday weekend in July and have absolutely no complaints except that the hallways are very cluttered during the day with maid carts and bags of linen everywhere. This made it difficult at times to get around in the halls, but other than that, we had no complaints. Love the beach, the waterfront and the location.2 of 2 Yahoo!
