Great location, decent rooms, unprofessional staff. The staff seemed bothered to be there. As we sat in Stonecutters, eating our mediocre meal, they rolled silverware and refilled cleaning supplies right in front of us at the bar. An employee engaged in some sort of "tasting" (buying or selling wine) loudly discussed "business" ...
We stayed at the "Ice House" with another couple because we were told that it could sleep 4. We were told that it had a queen size bed and a double. the queen size bed was that of a double and the pull out couch was half the size of love seat. One gentleman had to sleep on a chair while his wife slept on the pull out. there was plenty of ...

To far! No heat! Said they have "been having problems"! It was 10 degress outside! It was so cold in our room! Called front desk, no one there! Had to call sister property 2 miles away and no one could help us! They didn't know what to do or who to call!? Cold air coming through windows! Customer service, Kathy and Matt front ...
We booked the Carriage House at the Belhurst Castle six months in advance to attend a wedding Friday and another on Sunday. At that time they told me to check out the pictures of rooms on their web site, very deceptive. I chose the Ice House but was told the Carriage House was nicer. The wedding reception was there and we wanted to stay at the ...
Our stay at the White Springs Manor (WSM) as wedding guests at Belhurst Castle in Geneva, NY in August 2008 was a disaster. The front desk staff was rude and defensive from the moment of check-in. The old, crumbling, unattended "manor" building was dated, dirty, dusty, spattered, and smelly. The housekeeping staff seemed oblivious to the ...

overpriced poor quality food
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/22/08
Food was way overpriced!
Lobsters came out raw, even after being sent back.
Should have spent half of what I did at any number of other resturants, in order to get a satisfying meal.
Won't return...

Rude Staff, Terrible Weekend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/09/08
I attended a friend's wedding at Belhurst and stayed in the "Vinifera Inn" section of the property. With the exception of two nice waitresses, the entire experience was really awful. Upon arrival during a big snow storm (we were just glad we made it safely - no lights on Rte. 14!), no one was (and no signs were) there to direct us ...

Wedding Reception

My son and his fiance' booked their wedding reception at the Belhurst Castle. Living 4 hrs away we had never heard of it, so hoped everything would be okay. We were extremely happy with the food, service, and help planning that the staff gave us. Many of our guests commented on how great the swordfish and filets were. There were also many ...

I loved looking out the window and having the view of the lake. We ate dinner downstairs and it was excellent! I would recomend this place to any couples who need a romantic getaway.
