We stayed at the Lodge, and can only speak for our experience there in between summer and winter seasons. This resort would be a great family spot, if it weren't so expensive. It would be a great couples getaway, if it lived up to its expectations. It is a good girls getaway, and might possibly be a wonderful place to golf or ski. But for ...

going to 14 years and counting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/09
We have been going here for about 14 years. Everytime we go something is different. The rooms are large but do need a GOOD cleaning. We also had a very old tv and remote that didn't work well. They need to update the tv's. We enjoyed the food and our children loved the outdoor pool. One thing i didn't like at the was the cushions are always wet and moldly.
I went to The Tavern in the resort for dinner, and ordered "Pecan encrusted salmon salad", but found there was a roasted WORM!!! I was so disgusted, but the waitress insisted that it was a pecan! I stopped eating and cut it open with a knife, the texture was obviously different from a roasted pecan. I could even see the little feet and ...
My husband and I just returned from a weekend at Nemacolin resort. Our experience from the moment we set foot in the resort was poor. Let me briefly summarize - the first night we stayed in the lodge. The bed in our room was so uncomfortable that we both were tossing and turning all night and woke up with sore necks and backs in addition to ...
should have a much larger tennis program including INDOORS.it would be a hit as nothing like this exists many states around nemacolin.tennis is huge for travelers today.

Uncomfortable Experience at Nemacolin Resort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/15/07
Nemacolin Woodlands Resort was found to be a very unsuitable experience. The television was not working and the front desk manager did not provide any compensation for this huge inconvenience. Many portions of the property were in disrepair and dirty.
Room service was prompt, but the food was unacceptable in quality. Host of other poor management issues and a waste of our time and money.

Superb for restoration of mind and body
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/07
I was fortunate to be on the fifth floor of the Chateau, which comes with 24 hour butler service. I had a view of the mountains and the private airstrip. In the tea room on the same floor, there was a continental breakfast, strawberries and whipped cream for tea hour, and drinks and hors derves in the evening.
And then there was the spa! ...

did'nt care for
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/25/07
Did not care for massage therapist. She did not massage deep enough. Only did surface. I had focused massage. Also, after check in I was greeted by a fellow who did not speak clear english. Facility was excellent.
I was there for a company retreat and everything was WONDERFUL. I wanted to take the bed home with me. The rooms in the Chateau are fab! My first apartment wasn't that big! The whirlpool tub is something not to be missed in the Chateau rooms. The staff were nothing but polite and helpful. The only things I could even think about ...

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/06
This place was fabulous. I went with girlfriedns for a girls weekend & got treatments & relaxed in this beautiful resort. Everything from service, to eating, to the town home we stayed in was perfect. Top of the line!
