One of Many in July 2009 with a New Grandaughter getting ready for her trip to her new home in the U.S. If you have a choice, choose the White Swan. The atmosphere, polite service, other ammenities and thoughtful staff make this Oasis on Shamian Island the place to stay. We loved it.

great location, attentive staff, varied breakfast in chinese and western style. somewhat expensive bars, but then well you cant have it all.

We stayed at the White Swan when we adopted our daughter in 2005. The place is beautiful and so is the entire staff. Absolutely no issues at all.

Yes, the White Swan is a gilded cage filled with gold leaf, water falls, attendants pushing elevator buttons, and other fluff. Behind it all is a crumbling, poorly maintained building. Because of the exchange rate, we middle class Americans had the opportunity to stay in a high class hotel for a great price! Rooms facing the Pearl River have an excellent view, too. We stayed at the White Swan during our Ritz Tour. It was the first hotel we stayed at and I was stunned at how plush and beautiful the accomodations were. The white bath towels were the largest I have ever seen in my entire life. They were longer than I am tall, and these were thick quality towels, mind you, not thin or cheap at all.

It has good service because watever we needed they would give it to us. The rooms were neat and well cleaned.They clean our room well and the hallways were clean.They had well manered employees.
