Old World European in Africa

The hotel is old and charming. It was a pleasure to stay there after the ultra modern hotels of Dubai. I was a bit put off by the 320 ($28.00US) Dirham breakfast. The 7 Dirham a minute Internet charge ($1.00) was also outrageous.

I have stayed there a couple of times, nice kind staff, clean room, its an old hotel charming hotel up needs doing up, great location.

Hotel Needs Refurbishment

This hotel has a great location, but is in a dire need of refurbishment. The room key weighs about half a pound and the carpets are filthy. Staff are reasonably helpful if and when they attend to you!! I believe that it is generally over priced.

Not the Royal Treatment for dinner!

Don't go to the restaurant expecting to be properly served if you want a late dinner. One of our entrees came late (the waiter "forgot" to order it!) and the wine server rarely came by the table. Food was not bad, but on this level, the service should really be more attentive and careful.

TOP MARKS in every respect !

Absolutely excellent, personal service, polite staff with prompt attention, very good location, all this adds to the feeling of being pampered, even for a seasoned traveller. Attention to the smallest details. Excellent food served in two exquisite restaurants. I fail to understand who someone rated the hotel only good !
Will stay anytime again there.
